Kirlew Academy is a private school, featuring elementary level education up to high school. The first phase of this project is a modular type building with ridged frame. Phase II will consist of a second story addtion.

Our scope of work consists of the addition of a 12 Classroom building, complete with site/civil work, and renovations to the school campus. Improvements include major MEP upgrades, including new phone and cable system. New acoustical ceilings, doors, windows and vertical blinds, counter tops, casework, and interior and exterior furnishings. Roof replacements and accessories, metal walkway canopies, and commercial food service equipment.

A prototype school that serves exceptional (ESE), and other special need students. Our principal role was value engineering and cost management, resulting in a beneficial redesign, which incorporated cost savings through alternative materials, methods and selection of operating systems through life cycle analysis.

This project consisted of 12 phases, including 4 sub phases. The phasing was necessary to keep the air conditioning in operation while completing construction. The school required major exterior and interior renovations and improvements, and as the Construction Manager on this 18-month “fast track” project, we provided the re-roofing of the entire campus, asbestos abatement, upgrades to the fire alarm systems, telephone and intercom systems, and extensive HVAC replacement, including replacing circulating water piping systems, new chillers and duct work system.

We performed major exterior renovations, including window replacement and restoration of the stonework and brick. New construction was a two-story classroom and media center addition to match the existing facade.

We upgraded the new fire alarm, telephone and intercom systems. We provided a complete replacement of the HVAC system and re-roofed the entire campus. Classroom renovations included the installation of new cabinets and marker/tack boards. We replaced all of the doors and hardware, and installation of all new flooring throughout the campus.

Billed as a two-phased project, the first phase included constructing the Egypt Lake Partnership Library, which consisted of a computer lab area, and the addition of new covered walkways. During the second phase, Christiano was responsible for upgrading the telephone, fire alarm and intercom systems throughout the existing campus. We replaced all the rooftop HVAC units, and re-roofed the majority of the campus. Additionally, we were tasked with assisting in the phasing of the asbestos abatement, and made campus-wide restroom renovations.
